This turkey chili recipe is super simple, yet filling and full of flavor—it tastes even better the next day! Made with easily available ingredients and cupboard staples, it will warm you from the inside out. We recommend serving this chili with Cheddar cheese and sour cream. It’s also delicious with crackers or bread!
Ingridients:
Original recipe (1X) for 8 servings
- 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
- 450-500 g ground turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 240 ml water
- 800 g diced tomatoes
- 450 g red kidney beans – drained, rinsed, and crushed
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons chili powder (ground chili pepper)
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Optional: Sour cream and Cheddar cheese to serve
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the turkey; cook and stir until evenly browned, 6 to 8 minutes. Add the onion and cook until softened.
- Add water; stir in the tomatoes, kidney beans, and garlic.
- Stir in the chili powder, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, until the flavors combine and the chili thickens slightly, about 30 minutes.
- Serve hot, with sour cream and grated cheese, if desired.
